For the purpose of limit calculation, securities are valued at latest trade price (LTP) after applying the applicable haircut. The applicable haircut % for all eligible stocks can be checked on the trading website. For Example, if 100 shares of ABC are provided as Margin pledge and LTP of ABC is say Rs.1200, then the limits provided will be calculated as under: Market value of shares to be provided as Margin pledge= (price x quantity) Rs.1200 * 100 = Rs. 1,20,000 Applicable haircut for ABC = 20% Limits available from the above deposited Margin pledge = [120000(20%*120000)] = Rs.96,000.
