If you don't sell or use Rights Entitlements (REs) before the rights issue closing date, they will expire and be removed from your portfolio. You will also lose any premium you paid to acquire those REs, if applicable.
REs are not shares: REs simply grant you the right to buy shares in a rights issue, not the shares themselves.
They have a limited validity: REs are valid only until the rights issue closing date, which is usually a specific timeframe after the issue opens.
Lapsing after the closing date: If you neither sell the REs on the market nor apply for rights shares using them by the closing date, they will lapse and be removed from your demat account.
Loss of premium (if any): If you purchased the REs, you will lose any premium paid to acquire them.
