Is there any reduced margin requirement in case of calendar spread positions?

Benefit of calendar spread position(s) is available in the form of reduced margins. However such benefit of calendar spread margin is removed at the start of the expiry day, to ensure sufficiency of margins from next trading day onward, when the calendar spread position ceases to exist due to Closeout/Square off of one leg.
