KPI Green Energy announced that its 92.15 MWp IPP Hybrid Power Project, awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) under the competitive bidding process for hybrid renewable energy projects, has commenced power generation and supply to the state grid.

The project, with GUVNL as offtaker, has an aggregate contracted capacity of 92.15 MWp, comprising 16.95 MW of wind power capacity and 75.2 MWp solar power capacity. The project has achieved grid synchronization, and power injection into the grid has commenced, well ahead of the scheduled project completion timeline of July 2026, reflecting the Company's strong execution capabilities and integrated project development expertise.

With the start of power generation, the project is expected to begin contributing to the Company's revenue on a sustained basis, in accordance with the long-term Power Purchase Agreement executed with GUVNL. The long-term contracted nature of the project is expected to provide stable and predictable cash flows, thereby strengthening the Company's overall renewable energy portfolio.

KPI Green Energy Ltd soared 13.49% to Rs 458.5 at 11:46 IST. The stock was the biggest gainer in the BSE's 'A' group. On the BSE, 9.77 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 72314 shares in the past one month.

Honasa Consumer Ltd spiked 7.68% to Rs 298. The stock was the second biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 7.22 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 88342 shares in the past one month.

KIOCL Ltd surged 6.49% to Rs 403.9. The stock was the third biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 89878 shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 25804 shares in the past one month.

Hindustan Copper Ltd spurt 6.22% to Rs 517.75. The stock was the fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 91.94 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 25.97 lakh shares in the past one month.

Asahi India Glass Ltd jumped 4.37% to Rs 1004.15. The stock was the fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 6465 shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 6771 shares in the past one month.

The project involves establishing a 1 tonne-per-day (TPD) green hydrogen plant using plasma-induced radiant energy gasification technology, which converts municipal solid waste (MSW), refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and agricultural waste into synthesis gas for hydrogen production. The initiative aims to support waste-to-energy solutions while reducing landfill dependency and environmental impact.

The scope of work under the NOAs includes design, engineering, manufacturing and supply of plant and equipment, transportation, erection, installation, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning, along with operation and maintenance of the plant for a period of two years. Civil and structural steel works are also part of the overall project execution, as per NTPC?s bidding documents.

The aggregate contract value of the awards stands at Rs 128.49 crore.

This marks KPI Green Energy?s entry into the green hydrogen segment and is among the early plasma gasification-based green hydrogen projects in India.

The company said the order represents a strategic expansion of its renewable energy portfolio, which currently includes solar, wind and hybrid power projects, and underscores its intent to scale up presence in emerging clean energy technologies such as waste-to-energy and green hydrogen.

KPI Green Energy develops, builds, owns, operates, and maintains solar and hybrid power plants as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) and as a service provider to Captive Power Producers (CPP) under the brand name of 'Solarism.'

NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) along with its subsidiaries/ associates & JVs is primarily involved in generation and sale of bulk power to State power utilities. Other business of the group includes providing consultancy, project management & supervision, energy trading, oil & gas exploration and coal mining.

Shares of NTPC fell 0.15% to Rs 322.75 on the NSE.

KPI Green Energy has received three Notification(s) of Award (NOA) from NTPC for the Plasma Gasification based 'Green Hydrogen' generation project from MSW-RDF / Agri-waste at NETRA, NTPC Greater Noida.

Plasma gasification is an advanced waste-to-energy process that enables conversion of municipal solid waste (MSW), refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and agricultural waste into synthesis gas, which can be further processed for green hydrogen production, thereby facilitating energy recovery while reducing landfill dependency and environmental impact.

The project envisages setting up of a 1 TPD (Tonnes Per Day, nominal) green hydrogen generation plant based on plasma induced radiant energy gasification technology at NETRA, NTPC Greater Noida, as per the bidding documents issued by NTPC. The Company's scope of work under the Notification(s) of Award is in accordance with the terms, specifications and conditions stipulated in the said bidding documents.

This development marks the Company's first project in the green hydrogen segment and is among the early deployments of plasma gasification based green hydrogen generation projects in India, representing a strategic extension of its established renewable energy portfolio comprising solar, wind and hybrid power projects. The project reflects the Company's intent to expand into emerging clean energy technologies such as waste-to energy and green hydrogen, while leveraging its integrated engineering, manufacturing and execution capabilities.

The Notification(s) of Award collectively cover the design, engineering, manufacturing and supply of plant and equipment including mandatory spares on Ex-Works (India) basis, transportation, erection, installation, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning (excluding civil and structural steel works), safety-related aspects, civil works and structural steel works, along with operation and maintenance of the plant for a period of two (2) years. The aggregate contract value of these Notification(s) of Award is Rs 128.49 crore (excl. GST).
