This approval authorises the company to undertake electricity trading across state boundaries, enabling participation in India?s national power markets and alignment of its power sales strategy with regional demand dynamics.

The company had earlier received an intra-state power trading licence from the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC), and with the addition of the inter-state licence from CERC, the company said that it is now well-positioned to operate across India, establishing a comprehensive pan-India power trading platform.

With the new licence in place, the company will be able to access demand centres across multiple states, expanding beyond region-specific power offtake arrangements. It will also be able to dynamically allocate power based on market conditions, improving realisations through better timing and location of sales.

Further, the company can engage with a wider customer base, including industrial and utility buyers across geographies, and participate in exchange-led and short-term markets, complementing its existing long-term contracting strategy.

The company?s consolidated net profit jumped 47.73% to Rs 125.80 crore in Q3 FY26, compared with Rs 85.15 crore in Q3 FY25. Total revenue for Q3 FY26 stood at Rs 676 crore, up 45% year-on-year from Rs 466 crore in Q3 FY25.

KPI Green Energy Ltd fell 2.82% today to trade at Rs 379.65. The BSE Utilities index is down 0.69% to quote at 5313.81. The index is up 0.29 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, Nava Ltd decreased 1.91% and NTPC Ltd lost 1.65% on the day. The BSE Utilities index went up 4.01 % over last one year compared to the 0.82% surge in benchmark SENSEX.

On the BSE, 150 shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 1.59 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 562.6 on 16 Jul 2025. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 335.55 on 09 May 2025.

KPI Green Energy has recently energised an additional 376 MWp capacity (comprising ~182 MWp solar capacity in GUVNL 250/350 MWp project and ~164 MWp Solar capacity and ~30 MWp Wind capacity in GUVNL 370 MW/677 MWp project). With this, the Company's total energised capacity under its Independent Power Producer (IPP) portfolio has reached 965 MWp, marking a significant milestone in the phased development of its utility-scale renewable energy assets.

With a total IPP portfolio of 2.17 GWp, the balance capacity is under execution and is expected to be commissioned in a phased manner, in line with scheduled timelines. This continued execution across KPI Green's IPP portfolio strengthens its position as a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP), while reflecting its strong project development and delivery capabilities and enhancing long-term revenue visibility through a growing base of contracted renewable energy assets under long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

The sanctioned amount includes Rs 931 crore as a fresh rupee term loan and Rs 48 crore in the form of a bank guarantee facility, the company said.

The project, which is being developed across Bharuch and Bhavnagar districts, is backed by 25-year long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL), ensuring revenue visibility over the long term.

The total project cost is estimated at Rs 1,241.68 crore and will be funded in a debt?equity ratio of 75:25, with the sanctioned term loan forming the debt component.

The financing comes with a door-to-door tenor of 20 years and one month, including an implementation period of one year and four months and a moratorium of one year, providing long-term financial support for the execution of the project.

The development forms part of KPI Green Energy?s expanding IPP portfolio as it continues to scale up its renewable energy capacity.
