NTPC announced that Unit-2 (800 MW) of Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (PVUNL), a subsidiary of NTPC, has successfully completed trial run operation and consequently included in the installed capacity of NTPC. With this, the total installed capacity of NTPC group stands at 90,668 MW.

NTPC will hold a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company on 23 May 2026.

NTPC has signed an agreement with Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and NTPC EDMC Waste Solutions (NEWS) on 7 May 2026 for termination of joint venture agreement dated 11 June 2019 and acquisition of MCD's 26% shareholding (52,000 equity shares) in NEWS . With this acquisition, NEWS shall become the wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC.
