The investment will provide growth capital to accelerate JBM Ecolife?s electric bus deployment and strengthen sustainable public transportation infrastructure across India. According to the company, the transaction marks a core milestone for MO Alternates' sustainability-focused investment strategy and supports the expansion of zero-emission public transport fleets operating under long-term agreements with state transport authorities.

JBM Auto stated that the funding represents the largest investment by an Indian investor in the electric mobility sector to date. The capital infusion will be utilised for the rollout of high-capacity, energy-efficient electric buses aimed at replacing conventional diesel fleets, reducing urban air pollution, and supporting India?s long-term net-zero objectives. EY acted as the exclusive financial advisor to JBM Ecolife for the transaction, while Trilegal and Khaitan & Co. served as legal advisors.

India, (JBM Ecolife), part of JBM Auto,  has successfully secured a Rs 750 crore long term strategic investment from Motilal Oswal Alternates (MO Alternates), the alternative investment arm of Motilal Oswal Group. MO Alternates is leading this investment, providing growth capital to scale JBM Ecolife's electric bus deployment and advance sustainable public transit infrastructure across India.

The transaction represents a core milestone for MO Alternates' sustainability-focused investment allocation, mirroring scaled global private equity models by backing dominant green mobility platforms. The growth capital will enable the operation and rolling deployment of advanced, zero-emission public transport fleets operating under long-term agreements with state transport authorities across key Indian cities.

This is the largest ever investment by any Indian investor till date in electric mobility. EY acted as the exclusive financial advisor to JBM Ecolife while Trilegal and Khaitan & Co. were the legal advisors for this transaction. This capital infusion will be channelised towards the rollout of state of the art, high- capacity, energy-efficient e-buses, providing alternative transit options that help replace traditional diesel fleets, reduce urban air pollution and align with India's long-term net-zero targets.

The company said that it has retained its market leadership after having posted highest electric bus registrations in FY26 and now registering a staggering 49% share in May 2026 compared with 33% in April 2026, reflecting strong execution and growing adoption of its electric mobility solution

The company operates the world?s largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility (outside China), with an annual capacity of 20,000 buses, based in the NCR region. Its electric buses have collectively clocked over 400 million e-kilometres till date.
