The benchmark January futures contract for the stock is quoting at Rs 342.1, down 0.61% on the day. ITC Ltd tumbled 24.27% in last one year as compared to a 10.17% rally in NIFTY and a 6.18% fall in the Nifty FMCG index.

The PE of the stock is 21.54 based on TTM earnings ending September 25.

ITC Ltd lost 4.33% today to trade at Rs 348.2. The BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods index is down 0.24% to quote at 19694.68. The index is down 2.39 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, Godfrey Phillips India Ltd decreased 3.69% and Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd lost 2.14% on the day. The BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods index went down 6.61 % over last one year compared to the 6.65% surge in benchmark SENSEX.

ITC Ltd has lost 13.07% over last one month compared to 2.39% fall in BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods index and 0.18% rise in the SENSEX. On the BSE, 10.43 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 36.76 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 471.3 on 01 Feb 2025. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 346.6 on 02 Jan 2026.

On the BSE, ITC tumbled 5.73% to Rs 379.90 while Godfrey Philips India plunged 9.83% to Rs 2490.20 an VST Industries declined 2.63% to Rs 249.95.

The government has levied excise duty on cigarettes in the range of Rs 2,050 to Rs 8,500 per thousand sticks, based on the length of the products. The move is expected to lead to higher cigarette prices, which could adversely impact sales volumes of ITC and other cigarette manufacturers.

From 1 February 2026, pan masala, cigarettes, tobacco, and similar products will attract a goods and services tax (GST) of 40%, while biris will be taxed at 18%.

In addition, a Health and National Security Cess will be levied on pan masala, while tobacco and related products will be subject to the additional excise duty. Parliament had approved the two bills in December, paving the way for the levy of the new cess on pan masala manufacturers and excise duty on tobacco products.

The new levies on tobacco and Pan masala will be over and above the GST rate and will replace compensation cess currently applicable on these sin goods.
