Emami holds 95.36% in the paid up capital of its subsidiary Company, Brillare Science (Brillare). The Company has further entered into Share Purchase Agreement with the founder & other shareholders of Brillare for acquiring remaining stake of 4.64 % of that Company. Consequently, Emami's Shareholding in Brillare has increased from 95.36% to 100% and it has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company.

Emami Ltd fell for a fifth straight session today. The stock is quoting at Rs 425.85, down 2.09% on the day as on 13:19 IST on the NSE. The benchmark NIFTY is down around 0.75% on the day, quoting at 21980.75. The Sensex is at 72637.21, down 0.63%.Emami Ltd has eased around 7.42% in last one month.Meanwhile, Nifty FMCG index of which Emami Ltd is a constituent, has increased around 1.47% in last one month and is currently quoting at 54145.8, up 0.29% on the day. The volume in the stock stood at 4.89 lakh shares today, compared to the daily average of 8.07 lakh shares in last one month.

The PE of the stock is 29.21 based on TTM earnings ending December 23.

Cannis Lupus Services India has presence in India and is engaged in the business of services for pets and is launching medicinal, food, supplements and other complimentary products for pets. Cannis had recorded turnover of Rs 46 lakhs in the financial year 2022-23.

Presently, Emami is holding 30% equity share capital of Cannis. Post this acquisition, the company will hold 100% of CCPS of Cannis.

Offering the rationale for the acquisition, the company stated that aforementioned “investment is in line with Emami’s strategy and to meet the business requirements of Cannis.”

In July 2022, Emami had acquired a 30% stake in a pet-care start-up, Cannis Lupus.

Emami had reportedly said that the the company will roll out a range of natural, ayurvedic and chemical free products for pets and will scale up the business by virtue of the expertise of Cannis Lupus. It further stated that Cannis Lupus, under the brand 'Fur Ball Story', would focus on the ayurvedic range of solutions for common and recurrent ailments in pets, especially dogs.

The FMCG goods maker has reported 8.97% increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 258.41 crore in Q3 FY24 from Rs 237.13 crore in Q3 FY23. Net sales rose 1.38% to Rs 983.7 crore in the third quarter of FY24 from Rs 975.1 crore recorded in the same period last year.

The scrip slipped 1.05% to currently trade at Rs 461.95 on the BSE.
