Balmer Lawrie & Company announced that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on 24 May 2024, inter alia, have recommended the final dividend of Rs 8.5 per equity Share (i.e. 85%) , subject to the approval of the shareholders.

Net profit of Balmer Lawrie & Company rose 65.40% to Rs 73.77 crore in the quarter ended March 2024 as against Rs 44.60 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2023. Sales declined 5.16% to Rs 576.69 crore in the quarter ended March 2024 as against Rs 608.05 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2023.

For the full year,net profit rose 52.20% to Rs 261.55 crore in the year ended March 2024 as against Rs 171.85 crore during the previous year ended March 2023. Sales rose 0.76% to Rs 2339.23 crore in the year ended March 2024 as against Rs 2321.48 crore during the previous year ended March 2023.

The board will review the audited financial results (both standalone and consolidated) for the fourth quarter and full financial year ending 31 March 2024. A potential dividend payout for the fiscal year 2024 will also be considered.

Further, to comply with government guidelines for Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), the board will deliberate on options for capital restructuring. This could include share buybacks, issuance of bonus shares, or stock splits.

The prospect of dividends and capital restructuring has generated significant investor optimism.
