Cash' is a trading facility used for taking or giving delivery of shares.
'Cash' is a product type in which you buy shares by paying the full order value and sell shares which are lying in Demat Account.
The shares purchased will get credited in your demat account on T+2 working day and the money for the shares sold from the demat account will be credited to linked savings account on T+2 working day.
For e.g. if you want to buy 100 shares of Axis Bank @ Rs. 1500, you will require Rs.1,50,000 in cash limits to place this order and in case if you wish to sell 100 shares of Axis Bank, you should have 100 shares in your Demat Account.
Is there any specified timing for trading in Cash?
No, you can trade in 'Cash' any time during the market hours i.e. between 9.15 am to 3.30 pm. You can also place an after market order (AMO) from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm through Trade on Phone service and from 4:30 pm to 9:15 am through online service.
What is the settlement cycle for Cash trades?
The settlement for 'Cash' trades is T+2th working days. If a buy trade is executed on Monday, the funds will be debited from the bank account on Monday and you will receive the shares on Wednesday.
Can I buy securities against the sales proceeds of sale/s of shares under Cash?
Yes sales proceeds generated by sale of shares under cash can be utilized to buy shares. Sales proceeds generated will be displayed in Equity Receivable under Source of Limit.
When will I receive the shares (purchased) in my demat account?
The Exchange pay-out happens on T+2 day.
The shares will be credited in your demat account on T+2 day or the next business working day in case the T+2 day is a holiday.
Eg, Axis Bank shares bought on Monday should be credited to your demat account on Wednesday.
You do not need to sign Delivery instruction slip for the sale of shares from your demat account. Your demat account would be debited by Axis Securities Ltd. at the end of the "T" day based on the Power of Attorney issued by you in favour of Axis Securities Ltd. at the time of account opening.
